Title: label with no material or just floating label
Post by: CodyBrown on June 18, 2020, 05:05:11 AM
im setting up some configurations in KeyShot and need to change colors of parts but not the decals that i have applied as labels on them so i duplicated the pieces with the decals on them into their own model set and want to either delete the material so i can have the label floating and not changing, or turn the material completely transparent with no shadows or edges so its like theres no part even there.

i experimented with translucent mediums, transparent plastic, and just the regular translucent material type. i have gotten close but you can still see the edges even though its clear because you can still see that there are shadows from the geometry there and it still affects the color of the paint coming through from the main parts below as well.

any advice is appreciated

HIDE and LOCK everything except the label in the model set.

create an emissive material. Change color to black. Uncheck all the boxes.
Now just add your label as a label.
You now have a floating label on nothing.
