Title: how to make this texture?
Post by: karen1verd on July 21, 2020, 11:03:45 PM
Hello to all dear ones
I wanted to know if there is a way to make this material?
I tried a lot but it was really hard...

Very organic and chaotic pattern. Kudos to the guy who will create this material procedurally in KeyShot. I would try it with substance painter or substance designer.

Tried to experiment with procedural textures in KeyShot for 20 Minutes and came up with that (see attachement). Would need a day or two to come closer to the real pattern.

You're welcome. I've attached a KeyShot package to the last post. You can download and play with it.

You could also take a look at the damascus material on the KeyShot Cloud. Maybe the colors could be altered to make a timascus material.

P.S.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with timascus, so please forgive me if you already know this. Since timascus is a heat anodized titanium, using the metal material and picking measured Titanium with the anodized option may help you get the colors right.

You could try adding the procedural wood texture as diffuse to metal or metalic paint. Or use procedural wood as transparency... hmm...
I'll try something once I get home, will post results.
