This weeks RenderWeekly challenge gave me the perfect excuse to really sit down and play with the Fuzz geometry node in Keyshot 9 and develop some bristles for a dust pan and brush design.
You can see here some of the variations I worked on, as well as the bristles in the final design.
It's so much easier than the nightmare of trying to model these bristles in CAD, and achieves much better results.
Could you show the raw geometry before the fuzz was applied? interested to see how it all came together for the different bristle types.
Awesome use of fuzz!
Looks great! As Jacob said, I'd like to see 3D model before translating to Keyshot.
The geometry before fuzz is applied is just a flat surface. It is separated from the main body using the split object editor, so that the fuzz material does not affect all sides of the brush.
Two screenshots attached here showing the split object, and the mesh map used for the bristles density.

Thank you so much!! I could understand what it is.
If you would be OK, could you please share the setting of Fuzz material?
It doesn't make sense to use default Fuzz material like attached image...
Sure!
I have attached a slide from a Fuzz tutorial I posted on IG.
Hi Alex,
Thank you very much, my teacher! I'll try it according to your guide.
Hi Alex,
Thanks to your guide, I managed to nearly reach the goal!
But, I'm facing a bit trouble that there are kinds of noise... Although, almost all bristles are under controlled by each setting.
Glad it could help!
I can't say for sure but it looks like maybe there is some stray geometry that also has the bristle material applied to it?
Double check each surface that has the bristles applied.
Could also possibly be some discrepancy with the mapping?
The problem has been finally solved!
Since I used 0.1mm height 3D body, unnecessary fuzz seemed to appear from side surface of 3D body.
Thank you for your honest advice, Alex!
Thank you for all those great steps and explainations
Glad it could help!!
It looks great! If it is convenient for you, could you please share where there is a better texture map?
