Title: Is it bug for a Backplate only in GPU rendering?
Post by: Higuchi on October 24, 2020, 07:09:46 PM
Hi guys,

I sometimes face a trouble about a backplate. When I use a backplate in GPU rendering, the backplate of consequence looks repeating accidentally. I tested some different cases, but I couldn't find the reason. Does anyone have same bugs?

Thank you

In addition, possibly, it might be caused by a certain GPU. My GPU is Quadro P2000, in case.

Yes, this is a confirmed bug. I reported it and had to show specifically how to cause it, and they were actually able to repeat the bug which is always fantastic.
It may happen in other cases, but it will happen every time if you use shift on the camera. So if you're using Shift, then that could be the cause.

Thank you! I'm glad to understand the cause of this trouble. Although I've compared different cases, I couldn't find it happened with "shift rens"!

Anyway, I strongly want Keyshot developers to improve this bug sincerely.

Thanks,

It is addressed in KS10, but I doubt they will ever fix it in KS9.
The person I was talking to submitted it to a KS10 beta machine and it was fine. Submitted to a KS9 machine, and the background was messed up. So that's good news I guess....assuming you're on maintenance.
