Title: Keyshot for CFD & FEM Results
Post by: IG.Yamateh on November 30, 2020, 11:18:31 AM
Hey guys!

Did anyone try to combine FEM & CFD results with Keyshot so far or if there's an integrated module for that which engineers&designers could use?

Note:
- FEM : Finite-Element Method
- CFD : Computational Fluid Dynamics

Thanks a lot!

How abour recording CFD & FEM in CAD and use the new KS10 "Locked Camera Mapping" method to project the video on the model surface? Would that help?

In a few cases it might work. But you wouldn't need the locked camera mapping. The orthographic projection is regularly used in CAD and CAE tools. So a planar mapping would do the right job.
If the part is simple enough (block form or mostly primitive shape) it can work if the model does not show any deformation. But deformations are common in these cases.

As long as FEM visualization tools does not support UV coordinates onto their meshes, there will be no easy solution.

There are examples that shows 3D printed parts with typical rainbow coloring showing the stress result.  So the 3mf import could work.

Another pov is, that geometric's eDrawing can show simulation results. So a specific mesh (u3d) and the textures should be stored in this container.

I do not have a particular solution and not time to invest in this interesting case. But I am curious to see a solution if someone might share?!

Cheers
Marco

Could you link that recording? Could not find it, would be very interested in that one for sure!
