Title: GPU Realtime view
Post by: jacobpechacek333 on December 29, 2020, 07:31:51 PM
Hi All,

I am currently using Keyshot 10 on my system which has an Intel core i7-10875H CPU, 32 gigs of RAM as well as an Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000. The concern I have is that when I am moving around my model or changing its material, keyshot says it's only using 1.8 gigs of my 16 gigs of GPU memory. Is there a way to boost the realtime view usage of my GPU? I currently also have all my drivers up to date as well.

The GPU usage depends on the number of curves, the amount of texture memory needed, and other GPU-specific data within your model. KeyShot is not using any less GPU memory than it needs.

If you want to watch your GPU memory utilization go up, add a Fuzz geometry to one of the materials in your scene, increase the Max Curves limit to a big number (30 million in my attached example), and play with the fuzz parameters.

If I were to increase the fuzz density in my example by just another 100, to 700, it would generate an "insufficient GPU memory" error and fall back to CPU mode.
