Title: Issue with Caustics
Post by: justin_d on January 04, 2021, 12:37:37 PM
Hi all, I'm having some trouble with caustics in general for a while, and wondering how to improve. I've looked at a few tutorials on the subject and can't quite nail down why this is happening. Why are these little fireflies popping up? I believe this was at 500 samples, which I would think is more than enough to process through all of these.

Scene is currently set up with a backdrop round with a simple Diffuse material, objects are a Paint material. The single Spot light in the scene is 8 Watts, and it's all using the Jewelry standard lighting setup

Any help/advice would be super appreciated

Hi there,

If you send over a package file we could have a look at what is causing these fireflies to pop up. My first bet is that you have a subsurface material assigned to your planters but it's very hard to tell from this image what might be causing it.
