Title: Procedural Mesh help!
Post by: ankash on January 31, 2021, 07:56:26 AM
Hey Guys, Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend.

Anyways, I've been trying to create this Topographic map effect texture for the knife handle by using the Mesh material in Keyshot. I've almost achieved it but stuck now with the parameters that I'm not sure that I did it right. I just want the texture to look like the pattern in the reference image.

Ok, so the problem here is that I'm not able to stretch the texture on X-axis because I did a planar projection to the Z-axis and I know this is not the right way to do it, but this is how I got the effect using the lines pattern in the mesh material. I'm not able to stretch the pattern in X-axis because it's already projecting onto Z-axis, hence I'm stuck. :/

If I could just stretch the texture just a little bit then voila so if anyone has any ideas on how to this done would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to try the KSP.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

Just use and tweak the wood or marble texture.
