Title: Tips on improving animation render times using motion blur?
Post by: hayth on February 03, 2021, 02:15:32 AM
Running two RTX Titans, and rendering a sequence with motion blur on is 10 times slower!  Any tips on workarounds?  Nvidia control panel settings?  Anything would be appreciated!

honestly, the best workaround would be to add the motion blur in post !
saves you a ton of rendertime and looks decent enough!
In most cases it is absolutely sufficient.
Render a small sequence with motion blur and one with MB added in AE and compare.

Depending on how often you need it, I would suggest RealSmart Motion Blur for AE. It costs some money but is well worth it!
Even in an ideal world I would most likely render without DOF and Motion Blur as you have more freedom if you (or your client ;) )want to change something afterwards...

best regards

I will second RealSmart for motion blur. almost looks better than KS motion blur. For speedy stuff that's the way to do it.
