Title: Workflow Quixel to Keyshot
Post by: SpaceMonkey on May 04, 2021, 02:09:21 PM
I am trying to figure out how to get PBR from Quixel to Keyshot.

I have trawled the net and am surprised not to find anything. It has come up once before in this forum however the question was not fully answered.  Reference was made to poliigon to keyshot tutorial by Esben Oxhom but that is quite different.  I watched this tutorial and came up with the following.

So I have tried several permutations and the best I can get is :
Albedo to Diffuse
Specular inverted colour to Specular
Roughness inverted colour  to Roughness
Normal to Bump
As you can see from the attachments the Specularity and the roughness are awful. Please could someone advise?
Thank you

Hi.

The main problem I notice is that you have the roughness texture mapped to opacity. If you drag the line to the "+" you will get more options, where the roughness will be available.

Secondly I would use the generic material instead of advanced, like in the attached image below.

Hope that helps :)

Hi Sune
That works. Thank you.
I am not sure when exactly when my roughness node went over to the opacity slider for that screenshot however, I tried so many different iterations of the roughness colour inverter.  Anyway thanks for this, it definitely will make my architectural rendering workflow on KS faster.
For anyone reading this in future, you don't necessarily need the displacement if you are concerned about file size, it definitely is a "nice to have."  Attached is an imaged for quixel material graph for metal.
