Title: SW to Keyshot Positioning
Post by: Andrewh on June 17, 2021, 02:43:55 AM
Hello,

I'm attempting to get a KS render to align with a SolidWorks JPG export. Is there a way to open the STEP in KS in an exact position, same as it was in SW?

So the final image with be a Wireframe from SW blended into a render from KS.

Does this make sense? Ha.

Many thanks Andrew.

Hello Andrew,

Yes if I understand your question correctly, you want to import a scene from SolidWorks into a specific location in KeyShot.
You can do this by using the import dialog and after selecting the .step file, under the Position section select 'Keep position relative to native origin'.
Please bare in mind that this will import the geometry according to its location in SolidWorks, so if it is not in the exact location you want it to be imported to, it will not give you the results you are looking for.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Erik
