Title: Idea for object scaling improvement
Post by: RRIS on September 06, 2021, 01:31:14 AM
I'm doing a lot of rendering over backplates at the moment, and I find myself making a lot of planes and cubes to fill up/cover areas.
It would be cool if it was possible to scale an object not just from its pivot point, but also from its bounding box.

Imagine making a ground plane, and you need to fit the back and the front edge exactly to existing pavement tiles. I find myself in a cycle of scaling/moving to get both edges to align perfectly, where it would be so much easier if I could just grab one of the sides of a bounding box and move that, leaving the other sides alone.

It wouldn't have to replace the existing scale/move/rotate widget, but it could be a nice addition to it. The bounding box could use the same local/global orientation as well.

Although I agree that it would be handy, I don't know how far Luxion wants to expand on their 3D-modelling aspect in Keyshot. It may lower the accessibility that Keyshot has going for itself at the moment.
