Title: Keyframe Animation - pivot point issue
Post by: mercury on September 08, 2021, 02:26:26 AM
I am playing around with animations, trying to make a keyframe animation, following to this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKH3qvC5p_g

But when I try to move an object I have a problem with the moving tool, the pivot tool is always positioned as "global" and center is greyed out, it is not possible to switch. So I can't move the object as desired.

I have no Idea why this is as described. Even when I start a total new file from scratch, this behavior keeps staying.

Can anybody help with that?

thx

In addition, I've just seen that I am missing 1 option within the preferences. I am on KS 10.2, and my menu doesn't show that special option from the official online manual:

I have contacted luxion for that, and this is what they answered:
"Thank you for contacting Luxion.
Keyframe animation can only use the origin Pivot of an object. It is very important that the pivot is centered or placed in the position you want in your CAD software before bringing the model in to KeyShot."
and in addition for the missing option:
"This was an update done in later versions of KeyShot 10 due to this option of selecting center was causing the animations to become corrupt.
It was a bug fix we did."

In regards to your missing option, it's been moved to the Animation settings in the timeline. That should probably be documented.
