Title: Transparent, cloudy paper
Post by: JoelEnveseur on October 11, 2021, 12:09:48 AM
Hello, everyone. First post in here, I apologize for any possible inconvinience I might bring in the thread.

I'm trying to recreate this cloudy paper envelope, I believe I had a right idea by going with a Plastic (Cloudy) Material, but I still can't seem to nail it. Here's a photo of what I'm recreating and where I am so far. Don't mind the papers in the middle, I don't need those in the render.

If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it a lot! Thanks in advance.

It's easier to see the material graph to see what you're doing. The first thing I can see is that you need a noise map as the overall transparency is noisy.

I would start with an advanced material type and use transmission roughness to get the translucency.
And a white ground would be difficult to evaluate the material, so maybe a darker color might help?!
