Hi folks,
Since Will re-opened the weekly submissions on his Discord server, I had to have a go at the latest task: setup a Steamdeck gamepad and make a nice render. Here is basically what I did:
- improved the material on several parts of the model
- improved some UV-mapping
- added some meshes to get that blue glow around the buttons (I know, it's not "real", but it looks good)
- duplicated the screen mesh: top is glass, bottom one is the actual screen with texture
- added the airpods to make the scene more alive and to add realism
- added a groundplane with an old oak texture
- scene is lit with a HDRI, and has a subtle DOF (not much) and a emissive plane above the model to get the reflection on the screen
- some post-editing in Gimp
Looks GREAT. I want it :)

BTW, also saw it featured on Facebook ... I feel honored by that
