Title: How do I render with transparent plastic or glass?
Post by: HarryWilliam on April 05, 2022, 05:02:52 AM
I get these annoying fireflies or dots that appear through the plastic or glass when I have tried.

I have the lighting mode on Jewellery with 24 ray bounces. I have tried both the denoise and firefly filters both separately and combined.

I have attached an image so you can see what I mean. I only get this on the clock face from the light passing through the plastic/glass which covers the face. They don't appear on my preview but do on the final renders currently set at 500 passes.

Any advice on settings on this would be great.

It looks like caustics may be turned on. If so, try with them turned off. If that doesn't help, try using product mode.

Thanks, product mode combined with caustics off worked for me on this!

Interior mode with caustics turned off let very little light pass through for anyone wondering.

Thank you for the help
