Title: Don't Save in Performance Mode
Post by: seblezinzin on December 08, 2011, 12:03:09 AM
Hello,
I work on a scene, I put my materials but, it's a big scene.
So I use the performance mode, While I put my materials , I save my scene. And I close keyshot.

Surprise, when I open Keyshot and my scene, I see my scene in performance mode without the logo at the top of screen.
I click on performance mode in render edit, but nothing. My scene stay in performance mode and so I can't do render in normal mode.

It's normal ? and What is the solution??

Thanks a lot.

well, the performance mode just disables some features which you can re-enable yourself.

Enable "detailed shadows" and set the raybounces to 6.
For better quality in the end render: enable "detailed indirect illumination" and "Ground indirect illumination" as well.

Ok, thanks a lot.
It's good, I didn't know this principle.

When you save your scene in performance mode, it saves the current settings, which is no detailed shadow and 2 rays.
When you open that scene it looks like you're in performance mode, but you're not !  You just lost your "normal mode" settings.
So make it a habbyt of going to "normal mode" before saving a file.
