Hi all,
During my lunch break today I was fiddling with our KeyShot network rendering trial.
Somehow it occured to me to render a couple of rings that I got from GRABCAD. I put 'em in a scene and threw a nice sunny HDRI on 'em. Since I was using network rendering on 4 machines I decided to crank up the samples, GI quality and image resolution. And off the rendering job went.
When the rendering was completed I was nailed to the ground. "What the...? Am I seeing bright sparkling caustics thrown on my matt paint floor?... Yes I am!!!" :o
I was totally unaware of the fact that KeyShot supports reflective/refractive caustics by default. I wonder what I'll discover next :D.
These images are post quick Photoshop enhancements.

These are the un-edited render outputs.

I like how you reduced the blue shine on them, but I don't like the speckle you added ... makes the renders look "not cooked enough" ...
Philippe, for your reference ;D:
Some shots after PS, but without speckles.

Well .. to me those last ones are just perfect :D
I couldn't contain myself ;D.
One final image of the rings on a dark floor.

Now the rings get to enjoy the company of a petite diamond dragon ;D...
