Title: Exr 16 bit
Post by: Izayoi on April 30, 2012, 07:38:36 AM
Hi !
I was wondering if there is a way in keyshot 3 to render EXR file in 16 or 32 bit for compositing.
Everytime i try to render exr, the image is 8 bits

thank you  ;)

EXR images are 32bit images.

You can also output Tiff 32bit.

Hi again.

Could you please tell me why my rendered EXR file is slightly lighter than the viewport ?
I know i could easily change the exposure to get the same as the viewport but i need something accurate and not just tweaking by eye.

Here is a quick test with an hdri from keyshot.
My exr is on the middle, it was imported into a compositing software as srgb color profil.

The values of the grey plane are not the same. I patched the render on top to see the difference.
Keyshot seems to apply post gamma correction when the image is rendered out.
