Title: Render aspect ratio
Post by: dan_tyce on June 11, 2012, 02:54:26 AM
It now seems a complete pain to specify a particular render size.  The aspect ratio of the render output now seems locked to the aspect ratio of the realtime window.   i.e. you can only change either the x or y value of the resolution, and the other is automatically adjusted to the same ratio as the realtime window.  It is sensible that the realtime  and the final render aspect ratios are the same, but surely the final render output size should dictate the realtime aspect ratio, not the other way around! ...or am I missing something?

Thanks

I think you are ... why would you want it to render out something your haven't previewed ???

I wouldn't.  But the desired final output size should dictate the preview size, not the other way around.

You set up your aspect ratio in the realtime window. When you are ready to render out the final image, you change the resolution accordingly based on the aspect ratio you have set.
