Title: Liquify Tool
Post by: tori.schechinger on June 17, 2012, 10:08:50 PM
In the new Keyshot I would love to see a Liquify or Manipulate tool. That way working with less than perfect models can be adjusted easily.  ;D

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Please explain.

I think he wants KS to become a modeler+renderer ... or at least model-editor+renderer ...

+0 ?

Yes - that's not going to happen ... we want to keep it simple.

Liquify effects can easily be done in most modelling programs. Keyshot does what it is designed for really simply, effectively and quickly. Can't ask for much more than that.

I tried importing a 3ds model exported from sketchup to keyshot (it was a ferrari weighting about 9MB) and the result was horrible. i could see really large triangles all over the model.
but then I exported the same model in COLLADA format, and the surface was smooth as butter...
I think what he means is to have that surface blending thing that makes all those sharp edges go away...
it would be nice to have that implemented on 3ds importing methods or such. (you should know better, I'm just a regular user)
