Title: Homage to James Watt
Post by: Speedster on July 07, 2012, 07:55:21 PM
For the Engine Render contest I chose an homage to James Watt, who conceived and developed the steam engine as we know it, and is one of the most important inventors in human history, in my humble opinion.

So for the challenge I dusted off my Watts Beam Engine model, and dropped it into my "stock" 1905 Craftsman style parlor.  All modeled in SolidWorks.  KeyShot Pro 3.2.36.  My own HDR LightStudio Pro dome.  No post whatsoever.  All about 1 1/2 hours.

These contests are a blast!  Everybody is doing really great work!

Yikes!  I forgot that the Forum posts do not resize, forcing us to scroll all over to see the images.  So here's some "forum sized" renders.

Thanks, Tim.  Coming from you it's an honor!  Forgot to mention that the table is from GrabCAD, which I heavily modified.  I don't recall who did it, and I can't find it now.
