Title: syncing maya cameras to keyshot
Post by: jp_li on November 19, 2012, 02:08:31 PM
we are experiencing difficulty getting our maya cameras to sync up properly when imported into Keyshot when we adjust the film back settings in maya.

we are using the 3.3.3 of keyshot and maya 2012.

In 1 experiment, we use the default maya camera and setup a test scene.  When brought into keyshot, there seemed to be a difference where the overscan was not matching.  Adjusting the camera settings in maya to be set to overscan allowed us to have the cameras match.

However, once we adjust the film back settings in maya, the imported camera no longer syncs up in keyshot.  We are doing this because we have shot backplates using the phase medium format camera.  In order to set the focal lengths to correctly match, we have to adjust the film back settings.  However, once imported into keyshot, the focal lengths seems to be similar values but the FOV are off.  Using the default settings for a camera, which I assume is a 35mm base, the focal length and FOV match correctly.

Is there a way to bring in the adjusted camera into keyshot correctly?

Our Maya importer doesn't support cameras from Maya inside KeyShot yet.
