Title: light decay
Post by: evilmaul on December 19, 2012, 09:59:50 AM
hi there,

I know KS is based on HDR and not direct lighting and I like the fact that I can simulate nice area lights trough the HDR editor. I was wondering though if any sort of light decay is considered at the moment or it will be in the future? Same thing for emissive type of objs. I have tested that extensively yet...and its nice to simulate light boxes sort of lighting with actual geo . TRanslucency tho seems like isnt taken in account with emissive lights right? Does the light intensity decay in that case? Again have to do more tests in that sense. It would be also nice to simulate more direct lighting behaviour withing those light pins in the HDR and aside the decay may have some sort of parameter to simulate barn doors...just a thought :)

cheers,
Marco
