Title: Copy and edit materials
Post by: Robb63 on June 25, 2010, 05:54:29 AM
In KS2 when I copy a material (with decal) and paste in on another part when I try to edit that material to position the decal it moves the decal off of the first part over to the part I'm working on.

I've even made a new material in the library and assigned it to the second part and it does the same thing when I try to edit the decal location.

In KS1 If I copied a material and pasted it I could edit it without affecting the original, is there a way to do this in KS2?

Two things:

Make sure you are using the latest version - 2.0.38.
Make sure the materials are NOT linked.

I just tried it and it worked fine. When you copy the material the label may not show up. Simply double-click on that material, go to label, and toggle "enable". Now the label is there.

That was it; I had to unlink it then go into edit the material. The decal said it was "enabled", but I clicked it on and off and it came on in the correct location.

Thanks!!
