Wow! Network rendering has been improved significantly!
Due to IT policy restrictions I wasn't able to test drive KS4 NR seriously during beta testing, but now after final release, I have deployed it on our modest 3 machine render farm. :)
What I like very much:
- Much improved slave/master detection. On KS3 we had problems with the slaves not being able to connect to the master when the master system was rebooted. Now the slaves can connect at all times... 8)
- Incredibly useful user system. More specifically,the ability to appoint administrators, the ability to assign privileges for queue job modifications/actions are pretty sweet. 8)
- Very consistent render quality (compared to non-NR output). 8)
- Very handy slave tray to specifiy core count. 8)
