Title: perforated material
Post by: lalablabla on June 29, 2010, 08:56:13 AM
Hi,
I've tried my question in the general material forum, but maybe I've more chance to get an answer here... :p
I'm a fresh new keyshot2 user and I was wondering how I can make a perforated material (I need to make a kind of "opening wicker" ). I've seen that there is some perforatedd material in the keyshot library as leather for exemple, but I dont really understant how it works... Is there anybody who know where I can find the transparency map (because I only see specular, bump and texture map) ?
Thank a lot for your answers Smiley

If you create a tiff file with alpha channel, and a normal map from this file, then you can apply both in the general material and get the desired effect.

Select all the areas you want hollow, select inverse, copy and paste on new transparent file and save as png
