Title: Axis of Rotation Bug?

Guys, I have been attempting to rotate a part around what I believe is the Z axis (cannot see anywhere to turn on geometry symbol), but cannot. I have found that both my Z and my X axis are in fact the same axis...has anyone else found this issue? I cannot re-position my new part in the current assembly as there is no axis to rotate around! Frustrating.

Please insert advice or commiserations here.

Z global could by the same as x local - Could that be it?

Possibly? How would I change that?
