Title: Import from Direct Modelling/ Creo Elements Direct 18.1
Post by: toffmon on March 26, 2013, 08:22:11 AM
Hello!

i'm quite new here, and have found myself in quite a ditch. i am workin with the mentioned version of Creo Direct and the only way to go for importing atm is going Export Step -> import mesh ...

any way to maybe directly import from 18.1? since its already possible from Creo 2, i thought there might be a shortcut that doesnt involve the 4 hour import of a step modell?

mfg.
Chris

Unfortunately we don't have a direct import for Creo/direct. We are still waiting for the combination of these 2 file formats by PTC.

any other suggestion for a faster workflow?

cause right now i'm exporting 700-900mb STEP files and reimporting them is taking... well... a really long time :)

If you can export to OBJ then it will be significantly faster since the tessellation is already there.

Hello again, not had time for doing stuff with keyshot for a rather long time :)

to reply to your previous question, i'm running with 24gigs of ram atm, and the importing problem still persists....

guess i'll have to go bug for a faster machine or wait till we finally make the upgrade to the next version. oh well...
