Title: Importing obj files: no bump maps
Post by: JHoagland on April 13, 2013, 10:09:46 AM
I don't know if this has been asked yet, but:

When I import obj files, Keyshot reads the mtl (material definition) file and correctly applies the texture maps, but none of the bump maps are applied. All of the maps are in the same folder as the obj and mtl files, so there shouldn't be an issue with missing textures.

For example, the lines in the mtl say:
"map_Bump  pathblazer_tiresBum.jpg"

Should this line be re-written so Keyshot can apply the bump map?

Thanks

I also I have that problem. When I import OBJ, keyshot only attach  textures, and then I manually apply bump maps and trans maps...

I don't know if this helps or not, but I also found that some mtl files have two spaces as map_Bump, as in:
"map_Bump  tiresBum.jpg"

I tried changing the two spaces to one space, but Keyshot didn't attach the bump map the model.
