Title: Why is Rhino plugin meshing?
Post by: bjorn.syse on June 19, 2013, 02:42:04 AM
Hi

When I run "Render" from the Keyshot menu i Rhino using the plugin, it seems that is spends an awful a lot of time meshing everything.

Created a mesh with 600 points and 454 polygons.
Created a mesh with 3026 points and 2985 polygons.
Created a mesh with 3026 points and 2985 polygons.
Created a mesh with 3026 points and 2985 polygons.

etc ...

I'm just wondering why it's creating it's own mesh? Can't it utilize the render meshes that Rhino has allready created and saved with the file and save use 99% of the export time?

Regards

- Bj

Also, if you still want to mesh, it would be good if this process would be abortable. Right now,  I can't do anything but wait for it to finish.

We will rework this and make sure it always takes the mesh that is present in the file. Thanks for pointing this out.

The latest version of the Rhino plugin that I just posted will no longer mesh when a mesh is present.
