Title: SolidWorks 2013 SP3 - Appearance on faces not separate in Keyshot
Post by: markc72 on June 24, 2013, 02:58:21 AM

Hi,
I'm looking for some help please.

When I assign appearances to SEPARATE faces on a Solid Works Assembly, these faces become one entity after I bring it in to Keyshot.
I have just done a complete uninstall and a clean reinstallation of Solid Works 2013 S.P3.0.

This operation worked perfectly well in all previous versions of SW.
Our SW VAR has been no help in resolving this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm- I've not had this problem.  Make sure you are applying color mapping at the part level, not the assembly level- it's an important step.  See if this fixes the problem.

---------------

I've applied materials/colours at every level - it's doesn't make a bit of difference  :)

Hey Mark, I've been testing this since seeing it. First, apologies for the delay. I've not been able to reproduce the colors coming in all combined. I am running SolidWorks 2013 SP3 and the latest full install of KeyShot. Continuing to test.

Are you applying a SolidWorks material (metal, plastic ,etc.) to the part or a color from the color palette?
What are your computer specs?
