Title: Pixelated emissive lighting
Post by: Pwnsaur on July 02, 2013, 02:07:43 PM
I've been trying to render a couple wall sconces, but the lighting does not come out properly- it has patterns of dots along the edges, rather than a smooth gradient. Help would be appreciated.

Attached is the .bip file.

Update:

The second file has the material changed from emissive to an area light, but has weird pixelation along the edges...

For this scene it is better to use an area light diffuse rather than the emissive material. It will make the rendering much faster and with less noise.

Actually, I tried that in the second .bip file, and it leads to a significant amount of pixelation on the edges of the light..
