Title: "halo" around lettering problem

could you please to tell me,  how to create a classic halo around lettering like here :


the first one is excellent, but see the other one :-( i

Good question .. I tried a couple of things, but I do not get much closer.  I think the key here is to model as much as possible similar to how these things work in real life.  Meaning hollow shell box letters, with neon-tube inside .. question is, how deep are they inside and is there a milky plastic "window" in the back or not.  etc etc.

hi, i wish to find some handy tricks soon, hope that keyshot beats vray with light effects someday:-)
