Title: New transparency option for the toon material in 4.2
Post by: guest84672 on July 11, 2013, 04:44:42 PM
I thought I'd share this with you - a little sneak peak of 4.2. We have added a transparency slider to the toon material that allows you to control the transparency of the color while maintaining the edges.

In this example - thank you for the Robodogs, Vitaly - I set the transparency to 100%. This allows you to generate some pretty cool effects I think.

Enjoy!

Wow, those are great. Tron-ish. Would be cool if the edges could be emissive with some bloom.

My quick-n-dirty Photshop of what that may look like...

You can also use bloom to get this effect.

That's what I was suggesting, but if the edges were emissive, you wouldn't have to crank bloom up so high to get the effect (plus the light would look cool spreading to surrounding geometry).
