Nice start!  Another days work you'll be a real pro.

The main thing to play with first is the lighting, or HDR.  All materials change slightly depending on the environment.  Work first with HDR's that throws a sharp shadow, like California Desert, or autostudio-dark.

One comment, specific to the gripper head, is to add small fillets or chamfers to all sharp edges.  It's always done in real life, especially inside corners from milling cutters, and to avoid stress risers.  More important in KS is that filleted edges provides a much needed "spectral reflection" that really kicks off the form.

Nice model!
