Using Maya 2013, Keyshot 4, and Photoshop, I tried to ::faithfully:: recreate one of my favorite illustrations from the book: Scary Stories 3 More Tales to Chill Your Bones. For those of you unfamiliar with these books, they were illustrated by the immensely talented Stephen Gammell with a style so unsettling it was difficult to turn the pages. Here we have one of my favorite illustrations of a ghost who likes to give the raspberry.

Here are some production shots while creating all the 3D elements in Maya before they were taken into Keyshot to render.

The big purple sphere was set to Point Light Diffuse to get those nice, dramatic shadows on the dresser. I also fooled around with a second one, but those shadows were much more subdued.
