Title: Rock material test
Post by: alp on March 24, 2014, 07:26:33 AM
Been working on various rock materials and wanted to share this with everyone here. I've build the rock in Zbrush and included the (high-res) obj model for anyone to download. I am also looking at a lot of lava type of rock formations and will share additional renders. Shared my settings in the attached image

Download the rock model here

are you matching your material shaders to a real reference?
I dont recollect a lava rock looking like that...it looks more like a coca cola ice piece to me :)

I actually did look at a lot of lava rock photo ref (mostly for modeling ref)  and did try to sculpt it more like those type but the material is different for sure. Really appreciate you commenting and I will save this one as the Coca Cola Ice Material :) I will post the right material that matches the ref that I have this week
