I goofed up with the workflow and to be honest, cant be bothered to go back and do things over, would be quicker to start again. The models not wasted though as it gives me chance to play with Keyshot 5 some more.
This scene is:
One Dragon head model (OBJ) + Black HDRi + two planes added and used as area diffuse lights
Might not be an image to everyone's taste but I liked the result enough to post it here.

After weeks of illness I finally managed to do a speed modelling session with ZBrush and then some custom material editing with KeyShot 5 - Curvature procedural mapping for a specular effect, worked a treat.
