Title: can't import CAD in to the same keyshot file
Post by: dans on November 06, 2014, 07:52:09 AM
when I try to import a CAD file in to an existing scene the KeyShot import screen opens and after I click import it asks me if I want to save the current file.
After this the new CAD is imported but everything else disappears (except for saved cameras..).
Has anyone else had this problem?

The scene was created with keyshot5 before updating to the latest.

Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Open the accordion at the top of the dialog box and select "add geometry".

Or are you using a version of KeyShot that is bundled with a CAD system?

Most of the time it doesn't give me the option to add to scene (sometimes it does, haven't found out why yet..)
see attached screen grab.

the way around it that I found for now is to import the CAD data in to a new file and then importing the BIP file in to that file..
Pretty frustrating though.

Thanks,

Dan

I honestly don't quite understand what you are trying to do. Looking at your import dialog it tells me that you are trying to import a CAD file into a new scene.
