Title: Is it possible to simulate materials with fiber, Plush or Felt ?
Post by: dreatern on December 15, 2014, 06:48:00 AM
Hello

I'm using the demo/trial, don't know the limitations there but i realise everything in keyshot is "hard" "smooth" look (without fibers) wood, plastic, glass, metal, resin with impressive results by the way..
So, i was thinking about something extra soft like a plush os "medium soft" and thin like felt, both with external fibers.
Is there a way to reproduce this type of materials in keyshot that looks real with fisic fibers and not looks like a plastic or a alpha plane?

can zbrush fibermesh be imported to have a fiber look?
I have not seen how the creation/editing of materials work.

i'm really impressed with the speed, ease to use and quality of the renders

Hi dreatern - Zbrush fibermesh can be imported as OBJ then you can tweak the material to suit the finish you need. It will be easier to work with Zbrush once they release 4R7 which then has an optional bridge direct to KS
