Title: Speed Render Contest #8 / X-mas special - STATUS: Ended.
Post by: Esben Oxholm on December 15, 2014, 09:49:39 AM
As Christmas is getting closer, let's try something else.
This time you are allowed to chose the model yourself.
The only constraint there is, is the fact that your final render should comply with overall theme: Christmas.

Let's see how much Christmas feeling you can create in two hours.
Use as much time as you want to find/create the model.

Please go to the following thread for the entire set of rules:

Happy Christmas rendering! :)

This is too good! Is all that 3d geometry? Tree and bows too? Crazy good! Nice colors overall.

Just a guess, but I'd say you won this one Esben...

Any idea of when the next contest will get under way?

lol, oh dear... the christmas spirit wasn't so strong this year. Nice image though Esben - I got my 2yr old nephew one of those racers at xmas. He has managed to burst a central heating pipe and go through a glass door already, so I think he likes it...success

Hey guys, but I think you have misunderstood the image, and Esben was using it as an example.

It's actually the Christmas card I did way back in 2013, and a new rendering of it for 2014. See https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,7364.msg34785.html#msg34785 (https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,7364.msg34785.html#msg34785).  I've never posted the SolidWorks models.  The car is my "Speedway Racer" (way scaled down) that was the inspiration for the first all-steel pedal car.  Everything modeled in SolidWorks.

What Speedster said. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I used the image as a mood setter and linked to the original post below the image, but maybe it wasn't clear enough.

I can start up the speed renderings again on Monday, if people are up for it. The last couple of contests was a bit slow, but lets see :)

@edwardo:
Sounds a bit dangerous, though!

Sorry about that Bill! Excellent work!  :-[

Can't believe I didn't see the link below, Esben. It seems obvious now that you've pointed it out. :o

Yeah, I hear you, it'd be cool to have a few more participants. No worries.
