Does anyone know if there is a damascus steel material out there somewhere? There are multiple patterns of damascus, so I assume it would take some custom textures to get the various kinds made. Here are some examples...

I have created a material called "Damascus Steel" using the procedural wood adv texture and uploaded it to KeyShot Cloud. Download and play around with it and let me know what you think. Try adjusting the texture scale to fit your model and adjust the specular colors according to your environment lighting.
