So, I need to reproduce this material in KeyShot: https://i.imgur.com/GjztA9V.jpg
It's basically a carbon fiber thread + an anodized aluminum thread in a plain wave pattern.

I couldn't understand how to achieve this result using the material graph since warp and weft in the weave texture can only be of the same material.

Sorry for the short answer, that I'm writing on a mobile phone.

You can start using the weave texture with the anisotropic material and add another material as a label on top. Then use the same weave texture with black / white as a opacity texture to the label to separate both materials.

Hope that helps you to find the right direction.

If I have some time next week and this isn't solved, then I would add an example.

Good luck!

Hi Marco, thanks for your answer.

You actually had my same idea, using the weave texture only for half material and hiding the other half, do the opposite for the 2nd material and then join the result. My only issue is that I'm really a newbie (just started using KeyShot) and so I'm not familiar enough with the material graph to do it by myself, so if you could help me, it would be much appreciated. Besides joining the carbon fiber and anodized aluminum threads together, I also would like to keep a thin clear coat on top of the weave.

here's a quick draft of a possible solution. Just see the details in the attached .mtl that you can download into your KeyShot 9 library.

Hope that helps
Cheers

Thanks for trying, although I have to say that the real material looks completely different. When you don't expose it to light, you basically only see the carbon fiber, and when under a light the specular anodized aluminum start to bright like many LEDs. Also I should have probably said that both the threads have the same size: https://i.imgur.com/Y3ysRzu.jpg

This is the same material, just with twill pattern instead of plain weave, you should be able to get the feel about how it looks: https://i.imgur.com/1Yl9Rm1.jpg

This could be achievable, but my material needs a lot of work.
Currently I haven't the time to solve it - sorry.

I would load Esben Oxholm's procedural carbon fiber material from the KeyShot cloud and modify it to add the anodized aluminium.
