if keyshot can import rigged character animation, i see no other reason to spend much valuable time setting up renders for hours/days to get a good render. keyshot will knock them all out with its easy to use interface and superb render

Damn right,

Importing animation and deformable mesh is basically the only step that's lacking from Keyshot now to knock every other possible render engine in every thinkable way.

If some script could be created to accept an OBJ sequence loader, it would be more than sufficient ( exporting .obj for each frame, then reimporting it in keyshot, texturing the 1st, the other being live linked, and firing a render that would hide all but 1st for the 1st frame, hide it and show the 2nd obj for the 2nd frame, ...

Isn't there any workaround that would make us able to load obj sequence for this kind of animations ?

That would be amazing, and would give a more than decent alternative for mesh animation ...

We may be able to do this.

Hello, Sorry to resurrect this post.... but, I am considering on purchasing Keyshot with Zbrush 4R7 bridge when Zbrush 4R7 is released. I am torn over a few features.... Rigged Character animation import being one of them. Was any headway or developement made in this direction in Keyshot? Will the Version of Keyshot talked about at the Zbrush Summit 2014 include the Animation tools?
I am a Hobbyist on a budget, So I cannot afford a render system that cannot handle character animations, fight scenes and so on.

This is available in v6 of KeyShot via scripting. You can use sequential OBJ or Alembic Cache - You will have no control over the rigging though, so all animations will still need to be choreographed via 3rd party apps such as C4D, Maya, Max etc.

If your animations are not involving deformations, then you can use FBX which i believe was available in KS version 5

If you look up a user on this forum called LM6 he has been producing a number of animations involving X-Particles with C4D imported into KS via Alembic Cache.

I also did a sample sequential OBJ which can be found here https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=10690.0 the avi gives a better performance than the gif, also read down the thread and the scripts required for these type of animations are there for download

Hope this helps a tad more :)

Yes.. I found movie with umbrella... But still it is not what I have on mind.. But, it is a next step.
The biggest problem I see here is this animation is render to different file and it is not possible to put it in animation diagram.
