Hi
I am rendering a model and the windscreen seems not to become any more transparent, even though I have changed it.
Is there anyway to make it more clear?
Thanks

Under settings, make sure to turn on "Global Illumination".

We've been rendering a product with a glass front for a while now. It's basically a cabinet with glass in front. We've pretty much given up on trying to get GI to go through glass with Keyshot.
Render once with the glass, with a clown pass, and render once without the glass.
Then you can composite the images together easily. I usually just use the mask on an exposure layer and

A 100 transparent glass with 1.0 refraction index shouldn't cast a shadow, but it still seems to in keyshot. It gets even worse if you use something closer to glass settings. This seems to be the case with quite a few rendering software though, so it must be a fairly difficult problem to solve. It Might work if you use caustics, but be prepared to render for Days. I don't think caustics are really optimized for non-focused lighting, but I'd only tried it once.

There's a few variables to play around with.

First is to lower the CRI of the glass material you are using. Typical is 1.5, and 1.0 would be air, so some value between will vary how reflective or visible your glass appears.

Second is the positioning of you light environment. if you position a highlight over the glass, it will reflect and therefore you will see less of whats behind as the reflection will be more dominant. Try to find a light environment that just cast a small streak of light onto the window so you get the sense that its glass.

In the settings you can increase the number of indirect bounces, this will let the light that falls through the window into the cab bounce around more and therefore have a higher chance of bouncing back out towards the camera which will make it appear brighter. maybe a slight increase in regular bounces also helps this case.
