Himachal Pradesh is a state in the North of India, nestled amidst the mighty Himalayas. On my recent trip there, i was simply amazed by the God-like skills of the bus drivers there, in a state where treacherous terrain and weather does not allow god roads, and yet these (usually) old and overused TATA buses are the only means of transport for the many villagers and inhabitants of the far-flung and remote villages settled deep within the Alpine forests and dry cold deserts that make up this remote but extremely beautiful Himalayan paradise. I was inspired to model and create some renders of those robust machines that are the only means of transport to these regions - the ubiquitous old TATA buses - the mainstay of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) . These are usually built upon the TATA 1612 Turbo Chassis, and seat upto 42 passengers (with a few more often seated precariously on the roof rack). It is the combined skill of the drivers and the ruggedness of these machines that keep the state transport machinery working smoothly year after year.
