Hi
Is there any way to create lightning reflections from water like on this shark? I did this render in Carrara a long time ago, but I cannot figure out how to it in Keyshot? I "only" have Keyshot for ZBrush btw. It would be a HUGE help for me :-)

The "correct" way would be to actual model the water surface, have a strong pin in the HDRI (or use a physical light) and then use caustics to generate the effect. However this might be hard to setup and time consuming to render depending on your needs.

A workaround to get the same result as in your example, would be to add the 'light' to the material of the shark using a texture of the caustic pattern. Let me know if you need an example of what I mean.

I played with a giant sphere around a stretched material ball (instead of a shark). The sphere blocks the environment light but with scratches in the opacity channel.
It's not perfect - but you can play with this model.

Hope that helps

The answer to getting you close to what you want to do might be in there.
