Hi.
I am getting severe GPU Errors when trying to use GPU mode on KS9 as well as KS10.
(NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X)
The errror log is identical for both versions, a log file for KS10 is attached.
My Nvidia drivers have been updated a couple of days ago and this is the first time I try to use Keyshot GPU mode since then, so this might be a hint...
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Norbert

Ha, I know this one. I just had that problem, and I have that exact graphics card!

You're not going to like this, but here goes:
Something is wrong with the latest driver. Go download 457.51 instead. That one works fine.
BUT, you'll need to get rid of the other one first, which is the part you aren't going to like.
So download that driver, and also download this: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
I'm aware that it looks a little sketchy. Do some internet searches for DDU. TONS of people use it, and it even has links from Nvidia's site. It helps you remove other things as well. You can remove intel, AMD, Nvidia, and realtek drivers. Since I was there I did my audio drivers as well.

You'll need to do all of this while off-line. So once it's dowloaded, unplug your ethernet cord and turn off wifi.
Now restart while holding shift and go through the Stupid long menu to get yourself to safe mode.
Run DDU to remove your graphics card drivers.
Now restart in regular windows, still no internet so keep that unplugged.
Now install the graphics card drivers 457.51 (do not include that nvidia experience garbage either)
Then restart once that's finished.
Get your internet hooked back up and you should be up and running again.

I did that first with the latest couple drivers and no success. Then did it with that driver and it worked.
I alerted Luxion of the error. I'm sure they'll look into it and work with Nvidia on the problem if it's not just on keyshot's end. But for now, that's what you'll need to do to get things fixed.

If you're wondering "why turn the internet off?" It's because of windows. Windows likes to "cut in line" when it comes to drivers. And it will go ahead and install a driver For you. That sometimes messes up your driver install. If you cut it off from the internet, it doesn't do that. This is Especially important for those that are using multiple graphics cards or external GPU.

Thanks Andy.
I managed to reverse to 457.51 without using DDU.
Took me some time and a lot of headscratching... not so straightforward as one would think.
Then it took a second install of the driver to make Keyshot recognize my Graphiccard again, but in the end I got it to work!

But I sure hope Luxion and Nvidia manage to solve the underlying problem...

It's up to you, but I still would recommend you follow the process to do a more clean install. DDU really just removes the driver AND removes all of it's registry keys, temp files, and any other files it leaves around.
The fact that it took two installs to get it to work makes me think that Something in there didn't work properly. It may work, but might not be stable.

I learned the internet trick because when I got my computer, it came with everything I needed Except windows Pro. In changing to that, I had a bunch of issues but didn't know why. It turned out that the drivers that had been provided by Razer, for some reason, were changed by the antivirus software we were using at the time. For some reason, that was related to being on the internet as well. But I couldn't fix the problem, and it took several IT people to fix the issue. They fixed it by completely wiping the machine and trying again. But the weirdest part was, the same drivers were fine the second time. I never actually got any errors, only 3dsMax with Vray was giving me issues. No errors or warnings, just a ton of crashes which seemed odd. Everything Looked like it was installed fine. But installing it again properly, All the same files, fixed the issues. Those kinds of situations are Absolute nightmares for developers, as you could imagine.

So take it or leave it, but I would still suggest using DDU to remove every trace of whatever nVidia did before and making sure everything is fresh. A Bunch of gamers swear by it, and actually do it every time they update graphics cards. I may start doing the same.

Yeah, for the moment I am fine but I am probably going to look into this.
Not only for keyshot, but because my graphiccard is giving me general problems for years now.
(not reliably switching on the display at startup, requiring multiple restarts)
It surely seems worth the try.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi Andy.
Do you have any idea if the new Nvidia studio driver (461.40, relased January 26th) is playing well with Keyshot?
Thanks, Norbert

I haven't tried it yet. I'm in the middle of a couple projects with tight deadlines so I don't risk changes that can take a few hours to fix.
They said they fixed it, via email, but it wasn't in the release notes. But report back if you try it out.
