Hi there,

I'm trying to achieve the machined effect in the image "effect"
I've watched this tutorial > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MjLhSxgoUg&ab_channel=WillGibbons
but not achieving the same results.

I'm using the attached texture map I've created, but achieving a very different result "result.jpg"

Your post says '3D printed' look, but this tutorial is for machined metal. If you want 3D printed look, I'd take an entirely different approach with a marble procedural to make some horizontal lines and maybe displace or use it as a bump texture. But are you actually trying to get machined metal? The thing is that your texture appears to be black and white and not to contain any gray values. The gray values are critical in controlling the anisotropic direction. In the full in-depth tutorial, I share how the texture was made and why it works. You can find that here: https://courses.willgibbons.com/machined-metal
